We congratulate our patient, Christoph Harreither, who achieved an athletic extreme performance just a few weeks after his successful minimally invasive inguinal hernia surgery. He writes to us: <\/p>\n

5 weeks remained until my competition in the jungle of Northern Thailand \u2014 an ultramarathon covering 500 kilometers and 25,000 meters of elevation gain nonstop, meaning continuously in one go (day & night).<\/em><\/p>\n

Returning from training, I discovered the inguinal hernia and searched online for an expert in Vienna. I found OA Dr. Viktor Frieders-Justin, contacted him via mobile phone, and immediately received an appointment. <\/em><\/p>\n

The decision for surgery was made after his thorough examination and a brief consultation. His expert diagnosis, professional healing prognosis, and risk assessment formed the basis for this decision. The surgery took place after just a few days. Many believed that my plan to start this race was unrealistic. I trusted the statements and assessments of Dr. Frieders-Justin. Four weeks after surgery, I stood at the starting line.
